You don’t need to be a travel blogger for this. Even if you have traveled a little in your life, you might have noticed that milestones have different colors.
Did you ever think why is it so? Of course, it is not to provide different shades or make the milestones look beautiful. The different colors used for the milestones are actually color codes. These color codes reflect the kind of road and highway you are traveling on.
1. Yellow Colour
While traveling, you might have seen yellow and white colored milestones. This means you are on a national highway.
2. Green Colour
While traveling if you spot a green color strip on the milestones, it means you are traveling on State Highways.
3. Black, Blue and White Colour
If you spot black, blue or white color milestones on the roadside, it means you are traveling in a city or district.
4. Orange Colour
Orange color milestones are used in villages. These milestones are found on village roads that come under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
Now when you travel and see milestones on the way, you will understand what these colors talk to you.
